What Are Champions of Change?
Members of the Champion of Change Cohort are individuals who actively drive positive transformations and advancements in the field of ACEs, overdose, and suicide. These champions:
- lead initiatives, highlight the importance of evidence-based policies, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to address health disparities, promote wellness, and enhance the overall health of communities.
- work daily in suicide prevention, promote mental health awareness, reduce stigma, and foster a supporting environment in the community.
- actively engage in initiatives to educate others about risk factors and provide resources for help with overdose, suicide, and adverse childhood experiences.

In-depth training on addressing ACEs, overdose, and suicide in a comprehensive manner.
Networking opportunities with like-minded individuals and experts in the field of ACEs, overdose, suicide, mental health and public health.

Recognition as a Champion of Change in ACEs, overdose, and suicide from APHA and CDC.
Support to continue your prevention work in promoting the prevention of adverse childhood experiences, overdoses, and suicide in communities.
What to Expect as a Champion
Ready to make a difference? As a member of the cohort, here’s what you can expect to do alongside other champions:

1Committo actively engaging in the training program.

2Sharethe knowledge gained from the training with at least three to five individuals in your community or partners.

3Participatein group discussions and feedback sessions to enhance learning and collaboration.

4Implementor enhance at least one community-based initiative related to the topic areas within six months of completing the training.

5Providefeedback on the effectiveness of the shared messaging program. Suggest improvements for future cohorts.

6Completetwo trainings to qualify you to receive your Certificate of Completion as a Champion of Change.
